I made this video to introduce the online book I used in one of my Basic Theory courses for non major undergrads. This online Fundamentals of Music Theory book through Connect4Education is a good resource for teachers who like interactive keyboards, audio samples and practice quiz online for students to click and hear. Customizing units, quiz, content is possible. Their online course management system is like Moodle and Blackboard, and their customer service is fast.
The interactive video below is one of my custom made Ear Training videos for the Iowa Music Teacher Association. Students can choose an answer in a multiple choice setting. The answers can be chosen to be hidden or seen. As chair of the Music Theory committee, I made these videos and offered them to all member teachers in Iowa for their students, in preparation for the State's Ear Training portion of the Music Theory test. The curriculum of the state was closely followed.
The video below introduces cadences, as preparation for harmonization of a melody chapter, in a second semester Music Theory course.
This lecture video follows the Essentials of Music Theory book published by Alfred. For a college's Basic Music Theory class.
