This studio policy page is to ensure there is clear understanding between us teachers and you, student & caretaker. ANYONE can learn and enjoy learning music. The notion of “talent” is obsolete if you’ve read brain research or Daniel Coyle’s “The Talent Code” book. Students, we only expect this: Try your best to apply what you learned during our time together & ask more questions at the next lesson. What worked, what didn’t; what was difficult, what was easy. Bring a recorder device (phone, tablet) to each lesson or check your email if you don’t; excerpts will be recorded during the lesson or class so that you can review. In addition, by bringing your phone, a particular song that you like can be learned by ear. Always bring your music books and your notebook. For one-on-one lessons, please download, print and review the Studio Policy (in the Mindful Music Academy website) as it sets out the rules of our studio to make the learning experience fruitful for all students. These payments, cancellations, free demo policies are part of the contract you have with our studio. While we know that unexpected events may arise that require an exception to these rules, we reserve the right to determine when to grant any such exception. There are many kinds of group classes for all ages, including babies. We expect a parent or caretaker to buy necessary instruction materials prior to each semester. For those with students in one-on-one lessons, parents should sit-in and observe at least one lesson per semester (4-5 months), to email the teacher regularly to give a short feedback on the learning and other topics, to sign the instructional contract to save your regular day and time after the trial period of 2 weeks, and to follow the Make-up / Cancellation and Payment policy. |
